Nerve that connects the eye with the subesophageal zone (Hampel et al., 2017; Eichler et al., 2024). It carries the projections of mechanosensory neurons of interommatidial bristles and other bristles around the posterior and ventral head (Eichler et al., 2024). It merges with the labial nerve near the brain and enters at the same point in the ventral subesophageal zone (Eichler et al., 2024).
