Descending neuron belonging to the DNg group, having a cell body in the cell body rind around the gnathal ganglion (Namiki et al., 2018). In the brain it innervates zones A and B of the antennal mechanosensory and motor center (Vaughan et al., 2014), as well as the saddle, inferior posterior slope and gnathal ganglion (Namiki et al., 2018). It has bilateral arbors in the brain, descends on the contralateral side of the cervical connective, then fasciculates with the contralateral intermediate tract of the dorsal cervical fascicle and innervates the intermediate tectulum (Namiki et al., 2018). There is a cluster of up to seven of these cells in each hemisphere (Namiki et al., 2018; Sturner et al., 2025).

Namiki et al. (2018) identify this as being morphologically similar to VGlut-F-500136, described by FlyCircuit (FBrf0212704). Might be equivalent to or overlap with aSG-a (Vaughan et al., 2014).
