embryonic/larval periesophageal neuropils [FBbt_00007129]
Larval counterpart to the adult periesophageal neuropils (Pereanu et al., 2010). It is located adjacent to the esophagus and guides the medial cervical tract (Younossi-Hartenstein et al., 2003; Hartenstein et al., 2015). Its anterior portion corresponds to the tritocerebrum (Hartenstein et al., 2015).
