larval NPF-DL1 cell [FBbt_00047251]
larval NPF-DL1 cell
ID: FBbt_00047251
Larval NPF-expressing neuron with its cell body situated in the dorsolateral protocerebrum (DLP) (Rohwedder et al., 2015). A large branch innervates the basolateral protocerebrum (BLP) and, to a smaller extent, the DLP (Rohwedder et al., 2015). Here its innervation is mostly postsynaptic and the neuron splits several times (Rohwedder et al., 2015). The presynaptic branch of the neuron crosses the midline and projects medially through the contralateral subesophageal ganglion to the ventral nerve cord (VNC) (Rohwedder et al., 2015). At the end of the VNC the neuron loops back at least one abdominal segment (Rohwedder et al., 2015). There is one of these cells per hemisphere and it also expresses Dh31 (Park et al., 2008).
