Most internal of the larval lateral transverse muscles (Campos-Ortega and Hartenstein, 1997). It runs along the transverse apodeme at the segment boundary (Campos-Ortega and Hartenstein, 1997). It is an external muscle (Landgraf et al., 2003; Kohsaka et al., 2012).

Larva Muscle
Most internal of the larval lateral transverse muscles (Campos-Ortega and Hartenstein, 1997). It runs along the transverse apodeme at the segment boundary (Campos-Ortega and Hartenstein, 1997). It is an external muscle (Landgraf et al., 2003; Kohsaka et al., 2012).
Here these muscles are considered to 'belong' to the anterior segment of the boundary each muscle runs along, i.e. mesothoracic SBM is between meso- and meta-thoracic segments.
